The Dakota State University Foundation raised over $300,000 for DSU programs and scholarships on September 14, the annual “Day of Giving” for 2023. A record-setting number of volunteers also participated in DSU’s annual Day of Service on the same day.

Dakota State’s Day of Giving began with a goal of raising $250,000 from 1,500 donors. In total, 1,505 donors from all 50 states supported DSU students and programs.

Emily Wollmann, Annual Giving and Communications Officer, said hitting both their dollar amount and donor goals was a testament to how supportive the DSU community is.

Two DSU students received $500 scholarships from Madison Regional Health System. Cameron Kittridge earned one of the scholarships for soliciting the most donations. Molli Thornton earned the other scholarship for the most dollars raised.

In conjunction with Day of Giving, DSU’s annual Day of Service event offered a way to give back to the Madison community. This year, 934 students, faculty, staff, and alumni participated, completing 2,541.5 hours of work.
