Drivers receive minor injuries in Lake County crash

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on Sunday evening east of Madison.  The Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred just before 7:30 at the intersection of South Dakota Highway 34 and 462nd Avenue.  31-year-old Amanda Kronberg of Woodstock, Minnesota was driving a 2014 Kia Sportage westbound on Highway 34 and collided with a 2010 Ford Explorer, driven by 25-year-old Courtney Stewart of Lake Wilson, Minnesota.  

The Sheriff’s Office reports that Kronberg was attempting to turn south onto 462nd Avenue and collided head-on with Steward, who was traveling eastbound.  Both drivers received minor injuries in the crash, and the vehicles were considered a loss.  Kronberg was cited for an Improper Left Turn.

Other agencies assisting the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in this crash include the Madison Police Department, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks, Wentworth Fire Department, and the Madison Ambulance.
