DOH reports 208 active COVID-19 cases in state in weekly report

The state Department of Health is now updating COVID-19 information weekly and provided it’s latest information on Wednesday afternoon.  

According to this week’s update, the number of COVID-19 deaths in the state increased to 2040.  There are currently 208 active cases and 20 people hospitalized with the virus. 

The state reported a total of eleven cases of the Delta variant in the state.  

The only area counties with active COVID-19 cases as of this week are Moody County with one and Brookings County with two.  

As far as vaccinations, just more than 53-percent of those eligible in the state have completed their series of shots, while 57-percent have received one vaccine dose.
