District 8 Senator Crabtree reacts to Governor’s State of the State Address

Governor Kristi Noem kicked off the state’s legislative session on Tuesday with her annual State of the State address to the state’s senators and representatives.

District 8 Senator Casey Crabtree of Madison said he liked the governor’s focus on the state’s economy as part of her address.

Crabtree said that the Governor again on Tuesday mentioned in her address money for Dakota State University to expand cybersecurity programs.

Crabtree said that he hopes during this year’s legislative session that more can be done for workforce housing in the state.  He served on an interim legislative committee studying this issue this past summer.  Crabtree serves as a Majority Whip in the State Senate and is Chair of the Senate Commerce and Energy Committee.  He also serves on the Senate State Affairs and Transportation committees.

District 8 Representative Marli Wiese of Madison also serves as a Majority Whip in the state House, and is on the House Health and Human Services and State Affairs committees.  District 8 Representative Randy Gross of Elkton serves on the House and Joint Appropriations Committees.
