Those who want to vote in the upcoming general election in the state but aren’t registered yet, need to do so soon.  Secretary of State Steve Barnett says the deadline to register to vote in the November 3rd election is Monday, October 19th.

Barnett says it’s a simple form to get and fill out.

As of Thursday, Lake County had 8536 registered voters.  Of those, 4225 are registered Republican and 2396 are registered Democrat, with 1877 registered as Independent.

Lake County Auditor Paula Barrick said that as of Thursday, more than 23-hundred absentee ballots for the general election had either been mailed out or people have voted at the courthouse.  She said that 1694 absentee ballots had been returned to the Auditor’s Office.
