One additional COVID-19 death was reported in the state Thursday, along with 84 new positive cases.  The overall total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state is now at 1977.  Active cases and hospitalizations decreased Thursday statewide.  The state Department of Health reported just more than 13-hundred active cases in the state, and 90 people hospitalized because of the virus.

Lake County and all other area counties reported a decrease in active coronavirus cases yesterday.  Lake County had 13 as of Thursday, while McCook, Miner, Moody, and Kingsbury counties’  number of active cases were all in the single digits.  Brookings County reported 69 active COVID-19 cases. 

As far as vaccinations, as of Thursday, 55-percent of the state’s eligible population received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 48-percent had completed their vaccination series.
