The Lake County Commission has approved the awarding of a contract for weed spraying in the county. The county’s Weed and Pest Board recently discussed contracting out the weed spraying and riprap for noxious weeds along the county’s rights-of-way. Nels Nelson, who serves as the county’s Weed Supervisor, told commissioners during their meeting Tuesday that he received two bids for the spraying. He recommended awarding the contract to the low bid of Ditch Weed, LLC of Madison for 76-dollars a mile, or just less than 22-thousand dollars.
Commissioner Adam Leighton said that the county is planning to have the company do two applications, one in the spring and another in the fall, for the next couple of years.
