County commission approves video storage plan for Sheriff’s Office

Lake County Commissioners have approved an agreement for a video storage plan for the Sheriff’s Office.  Chief Deputy Sarina Talich met with commissioners during their regular meeting Tuesday to request approval for the renewal of a five-year agreement with Axon Enterprise, Incorporated for an increased cloud storage plan.  Talich said the cloud storage is used for video from the department’s body and other cameras.  The total for the five-year agreement is just less than 20-thousand dollars.  Talich said that the yearly payment will be close to four-thousand dollars.  Commissioners approved the agreement contingent upon a review by the State’s Attorney’s Office.

Also on Tuesday, county commissioners approved a new hire in the county’s Highway Department.  Brian Noland will start as a Heavy Equipment Operator on December 5th at a rate of $20.85 an hour.

In other action regarding personnel, the commission agreed to go along with the state in granting a bonus holiday for employees for Christmas Eve.  County employees will observe the Christmas Eve holiday on Friday, December 23rd, while those employees who work 24-7 will observe it on Saturday, December 24th.  The 24-7 employees include those in the county’s Sheriff’s Office and 911 Communications.
