The Lake County Commission took action on a couple of personnel items during its regular meeting on Tuesday.  Commissioners acknowledged and approved the retirement of Glenda Blom as the Office Manager for the county’s Extension Office.  Blom is retiring effective May 8th. Commissioners Tuesday authorized Commission Administrative Officer Shelli Gust to post the job opening, and approved an updated job description, for the Extension Office Manager position.

In other personnel action, commissioners approved a status change for Nancy Vickmark, a 911 Communications Dispatcher.  911 Communications Supervisor April Denholm said that Vickmark had recently completed her state certification, which changes her position from trainee to Dispatcher-Certified Level One and increases her salary by 50-cents an hour to $15.95 an hour effective March 9th.

Also during their meeting on Tuesday, the Lake County Commission authorized Sheriff Tim Walburg to advertise for bids for the meals for the county jail.  Bids will be opened on April 1st and the bid will be awarded by the commission during its meeting on April 7th.

Commissioners this week also awarded the annual bids for the county Highway Department’s materials, as well as for full operation rental services of gravel trucks and road machinery, as well as for full operation milling/reclaiming equipment.Â
