Lake County is planning to limit parking near Lake Henry in the southwestern area of the county for safety reasons.  Sheriff Tim Walburg told Lake County Commissioners during their meeting Tuesday that his office receives a number of complaints of people parking on the road to fish in the lake.

Walburg said the visibility is bad on this stretch of road and he doesn’t want an accident to happen.

Walburg said that there is also a U-S Fish and Wildlife Area near Lake Henry where some vehicles may be able to park.

Lake County Commissioners on Tuesday agreed to have No Parking signs put up in that area because of the hill and the safety concerns.

Walburg also told commissioners about an area on 462nd Avenue near Brant Lake where they have been receiving complaints about vehicles parked on the road.  He said that they will be working on addressing that area as well.Â
