Lake County Emergency Management will purchase more sandbags to have to help with future flooding in the county.  Emergency Manager Kody Keefer met with Lake County Commissioners Tuesday to ask approval to purchase an additional 30-thousand sandbags for the county.

Keefer will purchase the sandbags through the federal surplus at a cost of ten-cents per bag.

Keefer said he will be able to pick up the bags from Huron.  Commissioners approved Keefer’s purchase, with the money to come from the county’s Emergency Management budget.

Keefer also met with commissioners regarding a couple changes in the personnel on the county’s dive team.  Commissioners approved the removal of Tony Garcia from the team’s roster because he moved out of the county.  They also approved the addition of

Aric Deirkhising as a diver in training.  Currently there are six members on the Lake County Dive Team. Â
