County approves personnel items

The Lake County Commission approved a few personnel items during its regular meeting on Tuesday.

Commissioners approved the hiring of a new full-time Correctional Officer to work within the county’s Sheriff’s Office.  They approved the hiring of Kaylee DeVries at a rate of $19.35 an hour, effective November 29th.  

Commissioners also approved the resignation of Desirae Becker as a full-time Correctional Officer, effective December 11th. 

County commissioners Tuesday also approved the re-appointment of the county’s part-time Veterans Service Officer.  Matt Pillar has been appointed for a four-year term as the county’s VSO.  Commission Administrative Officer Shelli Gust said that Pillar’s first appointment to the position ends in January, so he needs to be re-appointed in order to continue on in the position.  His appointment will now run through the first Monday in January of 2027.
