The City of Madison Police department is warning of counterfeit bills that have been circulating recently. In a post to Facebook on Tuesday, the department said most of the counterfeit currency has been 50 or 100 dollar bills.

The department says some bills say “MOTION PICTURE USE”, while others have Chinese characters on them.The bills also don’t have a security strip with the amount of the currency when held up to a light, and are often not cut correctly.

If you find a counterfeit bill, or have a question about a bill, it is recommended to contact your bank or the Madison Police Department.
