A third person has filed a nominating petition for the Madison City Commission election.  City Finance Officer Sonya Wilt said Thursday that Jeremiah Corbin had submitted his petition to run for one of the two seats open on the commission this year.  Corbin joins Kelly Dybdahl and incumbent commissioner Robert Thill on the city election ballot.  Thill and commissioner Mike Waldner’s terms are up for election this year.  City commissioners serve three year terms.

Another nominating petition has also been filed for the Madison Central School Board election.  Business Manager Mitchell Brooks said Thursday that incumbent board member Steve Nelson had filed his petition for re-election.  He and incumbent board member Lori Schultz have both filed petitions for re-election to their seats on the board, which are the only two open this year.  School Board members also serve three year terms.

Friday at 5:00 p.m. is the deadline for nominating petitions to be submitted to either the Madison City Finance or Madison Central Business Office.  Petitions that are mailed must also be postmarked by Friday’s date (February 26th).

A joint city and school board election is scheduled for April 13th.
