Commission approves well installation for irrigation system at city sports complex

The Madison City Commission has approved the installation of a well for an irrigation system at the Baughman-Belatti sports complex.  On Monday, commissioners heard from Park Supervisor Mike McGillivray about a quote he received from a company that would be able to drill a well this fall for the system.  Lacey Well Drilling of Dell Rapids provided a quote of 18-to-20-thousand dollars for drilling the well and installing a pump.

City Administrator Jameson Berreth told commissioners that drilling a new well will be worth the money.

McGillivray told commissioners he has not heard anything on other equipment for the project.

Commissioners approved the installation of a well for the irrigation system at the park for up to twenty-thousand dollars, with the money to come out of the city’s general fund.Â
