City’s Mayor’s position up for election in 2022

The Madison City Commission has set the date for the city’s annual election for 2022.  Commissioners Monday approved setting the election date for April 12th, and will invite the Madison Central School Board to participate in a joint election on that date.

The only office up for election this year in the city is the Mayor’s position.  Mayor Marshall Dennert’s term expires this year.  The Mayor serves a three-year term.

According to the Secretary of State’s website, anyone interested in running for the Mayor’s position in the city election can start circulating petitions on January 28th and they will need to be filed with the City Finance Office by February 25th.
