The Madison City Commission has taken action on a couple of items that will help the city Finance Office begin the process of submitting requests for reimbursement for COVID-19 expenses through CARES Act funding.  During their meeting Tuesday, commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the execution of contractual documents for the receipt of the CARES Act funds.  City Finance Officer Jennifer Eimers discussed with commissioners some of the requirements for reimbursement spelled out in the resolution.

Eimers said adoption of the resolution is necessary in order for her to start submitting requests for reimbursement to the state Bureau of Finance and Management.

Another item approved by commissioners Tuesday is a reimbursement agreement with the state Bureau of Finance and Management for the Local Government COVID Recovery Fund.  Eimers said this will also allow the Finance Office to begin the reimbursement process for the CARES Act funds.
