City to advertise for bids for Madison Aquatic Center repairs and improvements

The Madison City Commission will be advertising for bids for repairs and improvements to be done at the Madison Aquatic Center.  During their meeting this week, commissioners set a bid date of November 10th for the project.  A pre-bid meeting for potential bidders is scheduled for November 3rd at the Aquatic Center.

City Utilities Director Brad Lawrence told commissioners that this is geared toward fixing the mechanical and structural issues inside the pool room and to add a storage facility.  He said that there will be a couple of different timelines for the project – one for the mechanical part and one for the storage facility.  Lawrence said that the storage facility wouldn’t need to be done until the end of the summer.

Lawrence told commissioners that the bulk of the work that has been done so far at the Aquatic Center has been paid for by insurance. Â
