City Flood Plan

On Wednesday there was a Flood Risk Public Open House where members of FEMA, state and city officials met residents and talked about the new and changing flood maps and what changes are coming in the future. FEMA Risk Map Program Analyst Madi Pluss spoke on some of the changes that may come as the new data comes in.

Mayor Roy Lindsay says there are ways for the City to prepare for possible floods in the future and some potential projects that would help to prevent flooding.

While FEMA is still working on finalizing the new flood maps, Pluss says citizens still have a chance to comment on and give feedback on the maps.

The new flood maps have not been finalized yet.  You can check out the proposed changes to the maps by contacting Ryan Hegg at the City of Madison or online at msc.fema.gov.
