The South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources has recognized the City of Madison for its drinking water compliance.  The City of Madison’s public water system and the system’s operations specialists have been awarded a Drinking Water Certificate of Achievement Award.

DENR Secretary Hunter Roberts said the state is grateful for these city employees who worked to provide their community with safe drinking water for the past year.  He said they are especially grateful for these employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Madison’s water system’s operations specialists are Richard Nighbert, Jan Tieman, Jerry Mohr, Kester Dahl, David Neu, Shawn Wise, Justin Anderson, Paul Gum, and Chad VanDenHemel.
