City & County Discuss the Highway 34 Bypass Improvements

During the City commission meeting one of the topics discussed was the memorandum of understanding between the City and County Commission on the topic of the Bypass and the suggested improvements for the Highway 34 Bypass and the half mile section of 233rd Street.

County Administrative Officer Shelli Gust spoke at the City Commission meeting about the plan and how they have broken down the proposed plan.

City Administrator Jameson Berreth spoke on what the outline of the plan would be and how the responsibilities would be divided between the 2 commissions.

The Commissioners are awaiting potential federal funding for the project. The result of the application is expected in late 2023. The City and the County are already working on budgeting out the project.
