City completes recodification of city ordinances

The City of Madison has completed its most recent recodification of city ordinances.  Madison City Commissioners this week approved the second reading of the ordinance adopting the new codification for the city.  City Administrator Jameson Berreth said that the process for this took more than a year.

Berreth said that the city worked with Municode for the recodification process.  It includes 46 chapters and will be available on the city’s website.  He said that Municode is now owned by CivicPlus, which is the same company that handles the city’s website, so it should help with the process the next time around.  The ordinance will go into effect by the second week in January.
