City commission establishes convention center liquor license fee

The Madison City Commission has established a convention center liquor license fee. During their meeting this week, commissioners approved a resolution establishing the on-sale liquor license and renewal fee. City Finance Officer Sonya Wilt said the initial one-time fee is established based on one-dollar per capita. Wilt said based on the latest certified U.S. Census numbers from 2010, the initial convention center liquor license fee will be $6474. She said that there are no official 2020 U.S. Census numbers yet, so for now the fee will be based on the 2010 information. The initial fee is a one-time fee, with an annual renewal fee of 15-hundred dollars.
