City Commission Approves to Submit RTP Grant Application

During its meeting Monday, the Madison City Commission approved a resolution to submit a Recreation Trails Program grant application. RTP is a federal aid assistance program that helps states provide and maintain recreational trails for both motorized and non-motorized trail use.

The program provides up to 80 percent reimbursement funds for all kinds of recreational trails.

The City of Madison is seeking grant funding for the Hyland Recreational Trail. Funds will be used to build a recreation trail in the area of the public fishing pond, just south of the area that will soon house the new City offices on Hyland Ave.
