City commission approves resolution waiving building permit fees related to storm damage

The Madison City Commission approved a resolution Monday that will temporarily waive building permit fees related to storm damages.  City Administrator Jameson Berreth said the resolution will allow building permit fees to be waived for those needing to do repair work or improvements related to the May 12th storm event.  The fees will be waived until August 18th, unless the city’s Building Official deems it necessary to extend the deadline under certain circumstances.  Berreth said that this is similar to what the city did after the 2019 flood in the city.
