City commission approves increase in MAC admission rates; new concession services contract

The Madison City Commission has set the admission rates for the Madison Aquatic Center, as well as approved a contract with Sodexo for its concession services for the facility.  During their meeting Monday, commissioners approved the recommended increase in rates to 75-dollars for an individual season pass, and 125-dollars for a family season pass.  A day pass for the facility for anyone over the age of one will be five-dollars, with anyone under the age of one getting in for free.  City Administrator Jameson Berreth told commissioners that the increase is necessary with the higher costs of labor and materials over the past three years.

Berreth said also that current Community Center members will be able to receive discounted admission to the Aquatic Center of sixty-dollars for an individual season pass, and one-hundred dollars for a family season pass.

Also during their meeting Monday, commissioners approved a contract with Sodexo to provide the concession services at the Aquatic Center.  Sodexo is the food service provider at Dakota State University.  Berreth said it’s a partnership that should help the city.

Gayle Cole with Sodexo told the commission that they will offer similar items as in the past at the concession stand, and will be going through the prices to try to keep them affordable for families.
