The Madison City Commission approved the awarding of a couple of bids during its meeting on Monday.

Commissioners approved a bid from Advanced Contracting Solutions (or ACS) of Madison to do the work on the Memorial Park playground concrete slab project.  City Engineer Chad Comes said that ACS’s bid on the project was just more than 30-thousand-900-dollars.  Comes said that this project will help the city’s Parks Department move forward with the installation of new playground equipment at Memorial Park, which is being funded by a grant for the project.

Commissioners Monday also approved a bid from the City of Freeman for the purchase of the city’s sewer jet trailer that had been declared surplus property.  Utilities Director Brad Lawrence said the bid from the City of Freeman, which is 14-thousand-500-dollars, is higher than what the city would’ve received for a trade in allowance on a replacement sewer jet trailer.Â
