The Madison City Commission has approved the upgrade of the fire alarm system at the Madison Community Center.  Commissioners on Monday heard from Center Director Nicholas Hansen about the issues that they are having with the current fire alarm system and what they need to do to help fix it.

City Finance Officer Jennifer Eimers said that the alarm system was not budgeted for so funding for it will need to come out of the Community Center Fund’s cash balance.

Commissioner Mike Waldner said the upgrade to the system is a good idea.

Hansen told commissioners Monday that they are hoping to have the new alarm system by the end of February.
