City approves temporary alcohol license for Dakota Butcher for Montgomery’s Parking Lot party

The Madison City Commission approved applications for a couple of alcohol licenses for Dakota Butcher of Madison.  One of the applications is Dakota Butcher’s annual application for a retail (on-off sale) malt beverage and South Dakota Farm Wine license.  The other is an application for a temporary retail (on-off sale) malt beverage license for the Montgomery’s Parking Lot party scheduled for this Saturday.

As part of the hearing on the application for the temporary alcohol license, Montgomery’s president Eric Sinclair told commissioners what he is planning for this weekend.

Sinclair said that Dakota Butcher will handle the beer sales at the event, which will be held from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, and free will donations will go to the Interlakes Area United Way.

Madison Police Chief Justin Meyer told commissioners that he’s worked with the organizers and has no issues with the event.  He said that he has made arrangements to have staff present at the event, as well as extra staff on duty that night.
