The Madison City Commission is moving forward with the city’s electric distribution conversion project for next year.  Commissioners on Monday approved a task order for professional services for DGR Engineering for the 2020 electric distribution conversion project. City Utilities Director Brad Lawrence told commissioners that this is the last portion of this project, which started almost fifteen years ago.

Lawrence said once the scheduled conversion project is completed, there are other areas that will need to have work done in the city.

Lawrence said the estimated engineering fee for the 2020 electric distribution conversion project is close to 70-thousand dollars.  The overall estimated cost for construction on the project is around 675-thousand dollars.
