The Madison City Commission has approved resolutions adopting the assessment rolls for the city’s 2018 sidewalk improvement and repair projects.
City Finance Officer Jennifer Eimers told commissioners during their meeting Monday that currently there is one property owner who needs to pay for the sidewalk improvement project, and six property owners for the sidewalk repair improvement project from 2018. These property owners were included in the city’s sidewalk projects in 2018 and had the work completed by the city’s contractor in 2019.
Eimers said that a letter will be sent to the seven property owners included in the assessment rolls and they will have until the end of October to make their payment in full. After that date, Eimers said that the property owners’ information will be given to the Lake County Auditor in order for them to be assessed for the amount that is owed.
