City approves hiring of engineering firm for Madison Aquatic Center project

The Madison City Commission has approved the hiring of an engineering firm to help with the electrical upgrade work that needs to be completed at the Madison Aquatic Center.

City Utilities Director Brad Lawrence met with commissioners during their meeting Monday and updated them on where things are at with the project.

Lawrence said that once the PE Group completes the plans and specifications of this part of the project, then he will meet with the commission to request to go out for bids on the project.  He said that replacing the boiler and the cleaning that needs to be done at the Aquatic Center will need to be bid separately from the electrical upgrades. Â
