City approves fuel agreement with Lake County

The Madison City Commission has approved the city’s annual fuel agreement with Lake County.  The agreement is approved each year and allows for the city to purchase its fuel from Lake County through the use of the county’s fuel tanks.

Mayor Marshall Dennert told commissioners during their meeting on Monday that the city pays for the fuel that’s used and an administrative fee.  He said the county’s administrative fee for the next year’s agreement will increase to 27-cents per gallon, from ten-cents a gallon the year previous.  City Finance Officer Sonya Wilt explained the reason for the increase.

The fuel agreement is renewed by the city commission annually and is in place from July 1st of 2021 through June 30th of 2022.
