City approves contract for engineering work for sanitary sewer improvement project

The Madison City Commission on Monday approved a contract with Banner Associates for engineering work on a sanitary sewer improvement project in the city.

City Engineering Director Ryan Hegg told commissioners that the proposal is for Banner’s engineering services for a sanitary sewer improvement project on West Avenue in Madison between Northwest 6th and 7th Streets.  He provided commissioners some background on how the project came about.

Hegg said that this project has to take place before more of the Rural Development project does.

The proposed cost for Banner Associates to complete the engineering services necessary for the West Avenue sanitary sewer improvement project is close to 47-thousand dollars.Â
