Madison City Commissioners have agreed to delay the city’s sidewalk repair improvement project for one year.  City Engineer Chad Comes told commissioners during their meeting Monday that his office had just recently completed the inspection of the area that needed to be done for this year.

Comes said he wanted to bring the issue to commissioners to get their opinion on what should be done.

Comes said the area inspected this year included properties south of Northeast 6th Street and east of Lee Avenue, which incurred a lot of damage from the flood.  If repairs needed to be made, the work would’ve needed to be done by July of next year.

Commissioners Monday voted in favor of delaying the city’s sidewalk repair project for this area for one year.
