Chester Area Juvenile Arrested

Yesterday at approximately 10:11 AM, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a request for assistance with a report of a juvenile male with a firearm in the Chester area.

 Due to the report of a firearm in possession by a the subject and the location close to town, the Chester School was placed on a Perimeter Secure status due to the location being close to the school.

 Perimeter Secure status is when school continues as scheduled, no outside activity, no one leaves the school building, no one enters the building.

 The Madison/Lake County SRT Team was activated and a juvenile male was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries reported with any of the parties involved.

 Other assisting agencies are the Madison Police Department, Moody County Sheriff’s Office, SD Game, Fish & Parks, SD Highway Patrol and Lake County Emergency Management.
