Lake County law enforcement is investigating an incident of a stray bullet entering a home southwest of Madison.  Conservation Officer Cody Symens said it happened on Saturday afternoon at the John and Shirley Ebsen residence.  He said law enforcement responded to the residence just after 1:00 on Saturday afternoon after a bullet went through the Ebsen’s kitchen window, narrowly missing Shirley.  He said the bullet then lodged into the interior of the house. Symens said they were able to retrieve the bullet from the house, and determined that it came from a rifle. He said that they are investigating the incident as hunting-related with it still being deer season at the time.

Symens said the investigation is ongoing, and that charges of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and others are possible against the person responsible for shooting the gun. Â
