BREAKING NEWS UPDATE:  Suspects in custody after high speed vehicle pursuit with shots fired in Madison

Law enforcement are currently on the scene investigating a high speed vehicle pursuit with shots fired that started in Minnehaha County and ended in the city of Madison Thursday afternoon.

Lake County Sheriff Tim Walburg provided this update on what took place with the incident before 3:00 this (Thursday) afternoon.

Walburg said that there were reports of shots fired from the suspects’ vehicle in the city of Madison.  He said that the pursuit ended in the area of Southwest 1st Street and Ramm Heights Drive, where the two suspects were eventually taken into custody.  Walburg said that fortunately no one was injured in the incident.

Walburg said that the two suspects are currently being held in the Lake County Jail.

Walburg said this is an ongoing investigation involving several counties and state agencies.
