Bethel Home suspending visiting hours as preventative measure

A Madison nursing home is making adjustments after the state’s announcement of it’s first confirmed cases of the Coronavirus.  Bethel Lutheran Home in Madison is suspending it’s visiting hours effective immediately. In an announcement from the facility, it states that “for our residents’ safety, the CDC has made the recommendation that visiting hours be suspended until further notice” due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  Bethel Home Administrator Chuck Johnson said there are no cases of the virus at Bethel and that they want to prevent it from reaching this “immune compromised group of people”.

The nursing home is asking family members of those whose loved one is experiencing end of life to contact the home to make arrangements for a visit. 

Meanwhile, classes are cancelled at West Central Schools today also because an adult male in Hartford who has students at the school has been diagnosed with the Coronavirus.  School officials say a deep cleaning of the district’s buildings will be done, and that families will be notified when the West Central schools will re-open again.
