Area School Boards Honored For Their Efforts
Four area school boards have been honored for their efforts to enhance their school board knowledge. The boards were recognized by the Associated School Boards of South Dakota for their work in the 2019-2020 school year.
The Madison Central School Board and the Howard School Board each earned a Gold Level award for their participation in the Associated School Boards of South Dakota’s board recognition program. The program “ALL”, which stands for Act, Learn, and Lead, honors the work of school boards who strived to enhance their knowledge base of board work. By participating in A-S-B-S-D activities, training opportunities and demonstrating leadership at the local, state and national level, school boards accumulated points throughout the previous school year.
To earn the Gold Level award, the Madison and Howard school boards accumulated five-hundred or more A-L-L points. The Oldham-Ramona School Board received a Silver Level award, and the Rutland School Board earned a Bronze Level award. In the fourth year of the program 66 public school boards in the state earned an A-L-L award, which is the most in the history of the program.
