Area projects receiving Operation Round-Up grants
Central Electric Cooperative is awarding more than sixteen thousand dollars in Operation Round-Up grants to support area projects.Â
Through Operation Round-Up, participating cooperative members voluntarily round their monthly electric bill up to the next whole dollar, and the average member contribution of 50 cents per month rolls into a charitable fund to support local causes.
The cooperative’s eight-county service area includes Aurora, Brule, Buffalo, Davison, Hanson, Jerauld, Miner and Sanborn Counties.
Some of the area projects receiving grant funds include 25-hundred dollars to Canova CARE Center for roof repairs and 25-hundred dollars for the Carthage auditorium for air conditioning. Also, the Horizon Health Foundation is receiving a grant of $2650 for dental assistance for children up to age five. Â
Since 2015, Central Electric Cooperative members have invested more than 130-thousand dollars back into their local communities through participation in Operation Round-Up.Â
