Active COVID-19 cases continue to decrease; one death reported Tuesday

One more COVID-19 death has been reported in the state, bringing the state’s overall total number of deaths to 2023 since the start of the pandemic.  The state Department of Health reported just less than 30 new positive COVID-19 cases Tuesday, with the number of active cases statewide decreasing to 229 and the number of people hospitalized increasing to 43.

Lake County and other area counties’ active cases all remained steady as of Tuesday.  Lake County currently has the most in the area at eight active COVID-19 cases, with all other area counties at two or less. 

Vaccination rates remain at 50-percent of the state’s eligible population fully vaccinated, with 55-percent who have received at least one vaccine dose.
