Active COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations decrease

The state Department of Health reported little change in COVID-19 numbers in the state on Wednesday.  With just twelve new positive cases reported, the number of active cases and people hospitalized both decreased.  The state reported just more than 200 active cases of COVID-19 at this time.  No new virus-related deaths were reported Wednesday.  

The only area county to see any change in it’s active case number yesterday was Brookings County, which increased by one to three active COVID-19 cases currently.

Overall since the start of the pandemic, Lake County has had 1388 total positive cases, with 1360 recovered and 20 deaths. As of Wednesday, Lake County had eight active COVID-19 cases. 

More than 53-hundred Lake County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, with close to 43-hundred of them fully vaccinated.
