Active COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations decrease statewide Wednesday; MHS returns to Level One status

The state Department of Health reported fourteen COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, putting the state’s overall total at 2623 since the start of the pandemic.  The number of active cases in the state decreased to just more than 35-thousand-500 and hospitalizations were down as well.  

Lake County reported 325 active COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.

The Madison Central School District reported two new positive cases in student or staff members at Madison Elementary and High Schools.  The number of active cases in Madison High School have decreased enough to move that school building back to a Level One status and no longer require face coverings.  Madison Middle and Elementary Schools remain at a Level Two status with face coverings required until the number of active cases in each of the buildings fall below one-percent of the student population of the building.
