Active COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations decrease in state; Lake County reports one new positive case
Active COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations decreased in daily information released yesterday by the state Department of Health. The state reported 674 active cases, 53 people hospitalized because of the virus, and 40 new positive cases Wednesday. Overall, the state has had 1994 people die with COVID-19.
Lake County reported one new positive case yesterday, putting the number of active cases now in the county at 11.
Moody County had eight active cases, Miner and McCook counties each had three, and Kingsbury County reported two active COVID-19 cases. Brookings County was down to 23 active cases as of Wednesday.
With the age of people eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine now lowered to 12, the state reported yesterday that 48-percent of those eligible had completed their vaccination series, while just more than 53-percent had received at least one dose.
