Potential timeline laid out for Egan Ave. Reconstruction

The Madison City Commission heard an update from KLJ Engineering regarding the Egan Ave. reconstruction. Matt Corcoran presented the commissioners some feedback they received from residents about the project. He presented some potential solutions or alternatives for the city to consider.

One of the areas of concern was the width of the roadway. Original concepts called for a 16 foot driving lane. Some had concerns that the roadway would be too narrow, particularly in the winter. The city then asked the engineers to come up with a design with a 17 foot driving lane, an 8 foot parking lane, and a 20 foot median.

At the end of the presentation, Corcoran laid out a potential timetable for the project.

There was also a long discussion about the sidewalks and bump-outs for the project. We’ll have more on tomorrow at AmazingMadison.com
