Memorial Day program honors WWII fallen soldiers

Monday is Memorial Day, a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered.
In honor of Memorial Day, there are several different programs or events in the area.
A Memorial Day program will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Rosehill Cemetery in Wentworth. This year, a special dedication will be held for the 8 fallen soldiers from World War II who are memorialized at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Those 8 soldiers are: Lowell Rempel, Woodrow Blase, Dwayne Bruns, John Fisher, Lester Holt, Harold Roesch, John Ronk Jr., and Veloris Waters.

Also Monday, the Madison American Legion and the Madison Veterans of Foreign Wars will be “Posting the Colors” at the Lake County Courthouse in Madison at 7:00 a.m. At 11:00 a.m. Monday, there will be an Honor Guard presentation and then at 4:00 p.m., they will “Retire the Colors”.
Chester’s Memorial Day program will begin Monday at 10am.
