The first nominating petitions have been filed for the Madison City Commission election.  City Finance Officer Jennifer Eimers said that Patrick Mullen filed his petitions on Monday.  Three others have taken out petitions to run for one of two seats open on the Madison City Commission this year.  Incumbent commissioners Jeremiah Corbin and Kelly Johnson have also both taken out petitions, along with Jerae Wire.  City commissioners serve three year terms.

Anyone interested in being on the ballot for the Madison City Commission election needs to have nominating petitions filed by the February 28th deadline.

Nominating petitions are available for circulation now also for the two seats that are open on the Madison Central School Board this year.  The terms of school board members Shawn Miller and Robert Honomichl are up for election. School Board members also serve three year terms.  The deadline to file petitions for a seat on the Madison Central School Board is also February 28th.

Nominating petitions for the City Commission need to be submitted to the City Finance Office, and those filed for the School Board need to be submitted to the Madison Central Business Office.  A joint city and school board election is scheduled for April 14th.
