11-20-23Madison City Commission Meeting

The Madison City Commission held a first reading for the proposed 2024 sidewalk improvement project, during their regular meeting Monday night. The project includes sidewalk installation on 12 lots along North West 3rd street, from Highland Avenue to Union Avenue, as well as 16 lots on 4th Street from Highland to Union. City Administrator Jameson Berreth spoke more on the sidewalk projects.Â
They have set a hearing date of December 4th at their next commission meeting for the new sidewalk projects.The owners of the properties would be required to install sidewalks by July 21st of 2024.Â
Also Monday, the commission discussed adding a cost to use the city armory which City Administrator Jameson Berreth spoke more on.
The City ultimately decided that the City Armory will now cost $20 for an hour and a half session with some potential open gym nights that the armory is in talks of hosting.Â
There was also some discussion regarding the ongoing 9th street project. Ryan Hegg says it looks like winter.Â
The next Madison City Commission Meeting will be on December 4th at 5:30 in the Commission room at Madison City Hall.
