Two Trojans Get NSAA Indoor Track & Field Honors

The NSAA announced its first edition of the 2023 indoor track & field weekly honors, where a pair of Dakota State athletes were listed.  

Lindsey Roth was selected as the NSAA Women’s Indoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week.  She won a pair of running titles in the Mount Marty Opener for the Trojans. 

She first captured the 1000-meter run title with a time of 3 minutes, 21.10 seconds. 

Then, Roth also anchored the winning DSU 4×800-meter relay title, with the team of Madelyn Sylva, Saddie Palmquist, Jada Anderson. The relay team finished with a time of 10 minutes, 38.81 seconds. Their time is the tenth fastest time in DSU women’s indoor track & field school history.

Conner Tordsen was named to the North Star Men’s Indoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week after producing a pair of national qualifying marks from the same meet.

He hit the NAIA ‘A’ automatic qualifying weight throw mark of 58 feet, 8.5 inches,, winning the event title for the Trojans. His weight throw is the second best toss in school history and seventh best throw in the NAIA.

Tordsen also hit the NAIA ‘B’ provisional qualifying mark of 50 feet, 4 inches in the shot-put, finishing third in the event. His shot-put toss is the third best toss in DSU men’s indoor track & field school history and 16th in the NAIA.

Dakota State continues their indoor track & field action today when they compete in the South Dakota State D2 Invitational.
